I picked up the Horizon Zero Dawn LEGO set on a Black Friday deal, and what a neat build this is. The model makes for a great display piece.

Shibuya

It’s pretty great driving the biggest, baddest EV in town.

Decided to use some of my Microsoft reward points on the Starfield limited edition controller. Love this one, look at those clear triggers!

Mouth of the cave.

Crossing the Ohio, Part 2.

Crossing the Ohio.

Play well.

Iced chai is lovely on a hot day like today.

Starfield looks like a game I’m going to sink a ridiculous amount of time into. September 6th can’t come soon enough!

Silver Wolf finally showed up after losing the 50/50 to Welt, and 70 more warps.

A notification popped up on my iPad saying that it was no longer being backed up, so I did a bit of investigation into my iCloud storage. Turns out that Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail are backing up their entire contents to iCloud, which seems pretty unnecessary. That’s 60+GB between my iPhone and iPad! iOS offers a toggle for backups on a per-app basis, at least.

On a related note, it sure would be nice if we had a few more options for iCloud storage. There’s a pretty big gap between $2.99/200GB and $9.99/2TB. I would love to see a 500GB or 1TB option.

New Apple things I’m most excited for:

Apple Vision Pro looks incredible and I’d love to give it a try, but the $3500 price tag is just too much. Here’s hoping we’ll see a non-Pro “Apple Vision” a few years down the road at a much lower cost.

Great day for a roadeo.

Wild storm clouds today. The rain was very welcome!

I finally got around to finishing and hanging The Great Wave set. It’s a work of art! (pun intended) I really love the clever parts usage in the details of the wave and the people in the boats. I’m not even an art or history buff, but I’m super happy with this set.

It weighs a bit more than I’d like for the nails I have, so I’ll probably need a more permanent mounting solution pretty soon.

Wyrmwood x Dispel elemental dice arrived today! 🤩 I opted for the iridescent space dice and a cherry dice vault. They’re every bit as pretty as I hoped.

A couple friends and I have been playing Across the Obelisk online together lately. Think Slay the Spire, but multiplayer co-op. A bit overwhelming if you try to play all four characters by yourself, but we’ve been having a blast working together. There are lots of characters to unlock and a good variety of cards and build options. Two thumbs up recommendation from me if you like roguelike deckbuilders!

My weekend art project has been acquired!

Well, I caved. I thought having Japanese symbols on my keyboard was a novel idea, and it fit with the KAT Explosion theme well. Turns out it’s not great in practicality. It works fine for gaming, and okay for typing (and I’m not an expert touch typist, so that doesn’t help), but I ran into problems with anything that requires symbols such as coding or typing passwords. It’s time to swap out for some “normal” keycaps. I’m going to try switching just the numbers and symbol keys first, and leave the alphas in Japanese. We’ll see how that works and go from there.

So, Japanese symbols on an English keyboard: 4/10, do not recommend.
